How To Become A Blogger

Bloggers will primarily be San Mateo County youth and young adults, ages 13-21, although others can contribute as well. Bloggers can be individuals, members of an organization, or students that take on blogging as a class project.

Bloggers can write about a wide variety of health-related issues important to youth – check out the yspacesmc.org website for some ideas. Blog entries should be well-researched, and you should check your facts. Remember, your words have power, so please be responsible.

We have two types of bloggers: Blogger of the Month and Guest Blogger.

Blogger of the Month: each month an individual or group takes responsibility for seeing that there are at least 2 blog entries each week for that month.

Guest Blogger: if you have special interest or expertise in a specific topic, and would like to write a single blog entry, contact us and we will schedule you in between our Bloggers of the Month.

This blog is also a space where people can discuss and comment on blogs, so be prepared for that if you decide to become a blogger. Be sure to read our policies for bloggers and for people making comments before contacting us.  If you are interested in writing a blog, go to the contact us page, tell us about yourself, and pitch your ideas. Someone from the Leadership Team will get back to you about the blog schedule.

Welcome

Welcome to the all-new YSPACESMC blog!  We want to know what gets you excited about eating right, being active, and encouraging others to do the same.  Share with us your favorite activities, and yummy and nutritious recipes.  Ask questions you might have about being healthy and what we can do to make our communities healthier places to live.  Let's learn from each other!
